I don't want a pickle...

Tomorrow, July 10, the "Uncle Jeffy's Big Almanac of Cool Stuff" has a couple of important birthdays in store for us. So let's wish an early birthday to one.

Arlo Guthrie turns 62 today.

His wonderful anti war/Viet Nam opus "Alice's Restaurant" was enough to put him down in the history books. An 18 minute song and monologue which he's updated over the years and can still bring a knowing smile and nod to the listeners.

Just being the son of Woody Guthrie is another guarantee he gets noticed. And appearing in the film "Woodstock" assures he won't be ignored or forgotten.

But Arlo is a working folk-singer, and he has lots of great songs to offer us that the general public isn't aware of.

Case in point...the song here with his own answer and way out of our current global economic crisis.

Happy Birthday Arlo!
